Our tradition is to make your first visit as simple and interesting as possible. Before we talk about any dental procedure, we make the effort to familiarize ourselves with you, to determine how best to serve you.
FIRST DENTAL VISIT
Our dental services begin with a regular and thorough examination to make an initial assessment of dental health needs, and oral hygiene status to help us develop a customized treatment approach tailored towards maximizing your oral health.
Dental Exam and X-Rays
The initial appointment usually consists of an examination, and a review of your treatment options. Occasionally, we can start treatment the same day as the first consultation. However, complications in previous medical and dental history or treatment may require further evaluation and cause a second appointment before beginning treatment.
As you and your ward prepare to attend for your first visit with us, please bring with you the following items, if you still have them:
- Any radiographs (x-rays) taken by a previous dentist, if applicable
- A list of medications that you are taking at present
- If you have health insurance, bring the necessary completed forms
- Patients younger than the age of 18 years need to be in the company of a parent or guardian
Please let the dentist know if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment. Some of them are diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever and similar conditions requiring extra precautions. It is important to tell us if you are currently taking any medications (including heart medications, aspirin, and anticoagulant drugs among others).
Previous Radiographs or X-Rays
If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our clinic. If there is not enough time, please pick them up yourself, and bring them to our clinic. If additional x-rays are necessary, we will take them at our facility.
